The Cook is responsible for ensuring that all items on the Hot Choice Buffet meet the standards set for taste, quantity, freshness, and quality. They pay close attention to working quickly, maintaining cleanliness, organizing effectively, and adhering to product specifications.
Food Production:
- Follows the recipes and procedures outlined by Golden Corral to prepare Carving and Display Cooking products for the Hot Choice Buffet.
- Adheres to the Golden Corral standards when grilling various menu items to uphold quality assurance.
- Maintains a standard of ensuring all fried products are served fresh and piping hot.
- Should the Buffet Attendant be unavailable, the responsibility of restocking the items at the Display Cooking Station falls to the Cook.
- When the Carver is unavailable, they provide support to guests looking for different options for carved meats.
- Complete utilization and adherence to the buffet production system to maintain quality standards and ensure shelf life conformity.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensures that all food items are cooked, held, and served at the right temperature.
- Relies on the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to track the inventory of hot cook products.
- Oversees the inauguration and finalization of administrative procedures.
- Abides by the recommendations in the Equipment Maintenance manual for the proper care of machinery.
- Adheres to the first-in, first-out method when restocking and rotating food inventory.
- Examines product availability and reconciles it with the Manager's build-to details at the beginning and end of every work period.
Cleanliness:
- Inspects the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and kitchen tools to ensure safe food preparation.
- Administers the duty schedule and confirms that cleanliness, service, and quality expectations are fulfilled.
- Observes the regulations imposed by the local health authorities.
- Ensure the char grill is consistently clean and free of contaminants to maintain sanitation and product quality.
Guest Service:
- Ensures the consistent warmth and freshness of Hot Choice Buffet selections, particularly Display Cooking items, to meet guest expectations.
- Comprehends and complies with the job responsibilities connected to just-in-time delivery.
- Displaying friendliness and politeness towards visitors and offering assistance with their product inquiries.
- Demonstrates continuous professionalism in communication practices.
