Job Description: Food Prep Person
The Food Prep Person is responsible for the quality, quantity, tastiness, and freshness of all Hot Choice Buffet products. The Cook pays special attention to speed, cleanliness, organization, and product specifications.
Food Production:
- Prepares various dishes from the Hot Choice Buffet line, such as Carving and Display Cooking items, following the recipes and guidelines provided by Golden Corral.
- Adheres to the Golden Corral standards when grilling various menu items to uphold quality assurance.
- Ensures that the quality of fried products remains high with a focus on freshness and heat.
- In the absence of the Buffet Attendant, the Cook is tasked with restocking the items on the Display Cooking Station.
- If the Carver is not present, they aid patrons in exploring the various choices of carved meat available.
- Implementation and strict adherence to the buffet production system to secure quality assurance and meet shelf life guidelines.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensures that all items are kept at the right temperature throughout the cooking, holding, and serving phases.
- Relies on the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to maintain records of all hot cook products in stock.
- Oversees the inauguration and finalization of administrative procedures.
- Follows the guidelines outlined in the Equipment Maintenance manual for the appropriate care and upkeep of machinery.
- Implements a system of replenishing and rotating food products based on the FIFO principle.
- Assessing product levels and confirming them with the Manager's build-to list at the start and end of shifts.
Cleanliness:
- Verifies the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and small kitchen utensils to maintain hygienic standards.
- Administers the duty schedule and confirms that cleanliness, service, and quality expectations are fulfilled.
- Complies with the requirements specified by the local health department.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation by ensuring the char grill is regularly cleaned and scraped to preserve product quality.
Guest Service:
- Ensures the consistent warmth and freshness of Hot Choice Buffet selections, particularly Display Cooking items, to meet guest expectations.
- Recognizes and follows through with the position tasks related to just-in-time delivery.
- Engages with customers in a friendly and polite manner, offering assistance with product selection.
- Consistently upholds professionalism in all communication exchanges.
