It is the kitchen prep's duty to uphold the standards of the Hot Choice Buffet by overseeing the quality, quantity, flavor, and freshness of the food items. The Cook also prioritizes maintaining a quick pace of service, cleanliness, proper arrangement, and adherence to product guidelines.

Food Production:

  • Prepares Hot Choice Buffet items, such as Carving and Display Cooking dishes, following the specified recipes and procedures from Golden Corral.
  • Prepares all dishes following the standards set by Golden Corral for optimal taste and presentation.
  • Ensures that every fried product is consistently kept fresh and served hot.
  • Should the Buffet Attendant be unavailable, it is the Cook's duty to replenish the items on the Display Cooking Station.
  • In the event that the Carver is not accessible, they support guests with alternative carved meat choices.
  • Complete utilization and observance of the buffet production system to maintain quality and adhere to shelf life requirements.

Operational Excellence:

  • Maintains the proper temperature for all items while cooking, storing, and serving.
  • Deploys the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to regulate the stock levels of hot cook products.
  • Organizes the opening and closing of administrative operations.
  • Complies with the procedures detailed in the Equipment Maintenance manual for the maintenance of equipment.
  • Utilizes the first-in, first-out strategy to restock and rotate food supplies efficiently.
  • Monitors product inventory and cross-checks it with the Manager's build-to specifications at the beginning and conclusion of shifts.

Cleanliness:

  • Ensures the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and smallwares and examines dishes for any residues prior to usage.
  • Coordinates the duty schedule and assures adherence to cleanliness, service, and quality standards.
  • Follows the protocols set forth by the local health department.
  • Ensure the char grill remains spotless and free of debris for optimal product quality and sanitation measures.

Guest Service:

  • Maintains the quality of Hot Choice Buffet offerings, such as Display Cooking items, by ensuring they remain heated and freshly prepared for guests to enjoy.
  • Acknowledges and adheres to the role requirements concerning just-in-time delivery.
  • Extends a welcoming and courteous approach to visitors while assisting them in choosing products.
  • Keeps up professional communication standards without fail.
