Job Description: Pantry Cook
The Pantry Cook plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality, quantity, deliciousness, and freshness of all items offered on the Hot Choice Buffet. They focus on ensuring efficient operations, cleanliness, organization, and adherence to product specifications within their duties.
Food Production:
- Prepares Carving and Display Cooking items for the Hot Choice Buffet by following the recipes and procedures set by Golden Corral.
- Grills all items according to the standards set by Golden Corral to guarantee quality consistency.
- Promises the continuous delivery of fried items that are freshly cooked and hot.
- In the absence of the Buffet Attendant, the Cook is tasked with restocking the items on the Display Cooking Station.
- When the Carver is not on duty, they assist guests by offering alternatives for carved meat options.
- Complete utilization and adherence to the buffet production system to maintain quality standards and ensure shelf life conformity.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensures that all food items are cooked, held, and served at the right temperature.
- Utilizes the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to monitor and control the availability of all hot cook merchandise.
- Manages the commencement and conclusion of administrative tasks.
- Follows the guidelines outlined in the Equipment Maintenance manual for the appropriate care and upkeep of machinery.
- Utilizes the first-in, first-out strategy to restock and rotate food supplies efficiently.
- Reviews product levels and confirms them with the Manager's build-to inventory during shift commencement and closure.
Cleanliness:
- Maintains the cleanliness of the Hot Cook area and small kitchen items, conducting regular inspections of dish cleanliness.
- Coordinates the duty schedule and assures adherence to cleanliness, service, and quality standards.
- Follows the rules and regulations enforced by the local health department.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation by ensuring the char grill is regularly cleaned and scraped to preserve product quality.
Guest Service:
- Guarantees that Hot Choice Buffet items, specifically Display Cooking products, are kept warm and fresh for guests to enjoy.
- Acknowledges and adheres to the role requirements concerning just-in-time delivery.
- Displaying friendliness and politeness towards visitors and offering assistance with their product inquiries.
- Ensures that communication remains professional in every interaction.
