Job Summary: Food Preparer
The Food Preparer is responsible for ensuring that all items on the Hot Choice Buffet meet the standards set for taste, quantity, freshness, and quality. They pay close attention to working quickly, maintaining cleanliness, organizing effectively, and adhering to product specifications.
Food Production:
- Adheres to Golden Corral's standards by preparing Hot Choice Buffet products, including Carving and Display Cooking options, according to their specific recipes and procedures.
- Grills all items according to the standards set by Golden Corral to guarantee quality consistency.
- Maintains a standard of delivering fried dishes that are consistently hot and fresh.
- Should the Buffet Attendant be unavailable, it is the Cook's duty to replenish the items on the Display Cooking Station.
- In the absence of the Carver, they help guests in making selections from the range of carved meat alternatives.
- Complete utilization and adherence to the buffet production system to maintain quality standards and ensure shelf life conformity.
Operational Excellence:
- Maintains the temperature of all items appropriately as they are cooked, held, and served.
- Uses the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to ensure accurate tracking of the inventory of hot cook items.
- Organizes the opening and closing of administrative operations.
- Performs maintenance tasks on equipment following the guidelines set forth in the Equipment Maintenance manual.
- Adheres to the first-in, first-out method when restocking and rotating food inventory.
- Evaluates product inventory and compares it with the Manager's build-to checklist at the start and end of each shift.
Cleanliness:
- Ensures that the Hot Cook area and smallwares are sanitary and examines dishes for cleanliness to guarantee food safety.
- Coordinates the duty schedule and assures adherence to cleanliness, service, and quality standards.
- Abides by the mandates of the local health department.
- Ensure the char grill is consistently clean and free of contaminants to maintain sanitation and product quality.
Guest Service:
- Maintains the freshness and warmth of Hot Choice Buffet products, including Display Cooking varieties, to ensure guest contentment.
- Comprehends and executes the job duties connected to just-in-time delivery.
- Extends a welcoming and courteous approach to visitors while assisting them in choosing products.
- Maintains a professional demeanor in verbal and written communications.
