Job Summary:

Duties revolve around the reception, storage, and dissemination of various goods and products.

Main job duties and required tasks:

• Examines the production timetable, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to figure out the items that should be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Moves materials from receiving or production sectors to specified storage sections.
• Places materials and products on shelves, racks, or in bins in a certain sequence depending on factors such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Responds to requests for materials, tools, or other stock items by filling orders and distributing them to production workers.
• These tasks may be included in the primary responsibilities: Operating machinery and using physical abilities to handle products effectively; loading and unloading items from truck trailers.
• Affixes identifiable marks to the materials.
• Undoes fastenings on bales, crates, and receptacles.
• Documents the volumes of materials or products received or distributed.
• Exercises measurement or quantification of items for distribution within the plant to ensure they meet company standards.
• Orders stock items in a predetermined manner for assembly tasks to be carried out by coworkers.
• Enters and updates records electronically using a computer.
• Puts together worksheets or tickets in accordance with customer needs.
• Drives a car to move stored items or to pick up items.
• Handles requisition forms to procure supplies from other sectors within the organization.
• Packs parcels for mailing.
• Maintains inventory records.
• Undertakes extra responsibilities as needed.
• Demonstrates commitment to HACCP standards by overseeing presentation, portion control, and serving temperature accuracy.
